IN JAPANESE HANDS

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Lees, of 47, Stowe St., Lichfield, has this week received news from the Red Cross that their son, John Thomas Lees, has been reported on the wireless as a prisoner of war in Japanese hands. This is the first news after fifteen months, as he was presumed missing in February, 1942. Mr. and Mrs. Lees wish to thank all relations, friends and neighbours for their kind enquiries.

LICHFIELD P.O.W. RETURNING

Many friends will be glad to hear that Mr. and Mrs. A. Lees, of 47, Stowe Street, have received news by cablegram of their youngest son, Pte. John Thomas Lees, who has arrived at Colombo from a Malaya prisoner of war camp. Jack, as he is known to his friends, has been a prisoner of war since the fall of Java, February, 1942, and was later transferred to Malaya.

Lees, who is an Old Edwardian, volunteered in the R.A.O.C. in 1940, when 20 years of age, and was later transferred to R.E.M.E.'s. All will wish him a speedy return to his native city.
