Ode to Win the Scribe

by

Anon

Your words we have read and really digested

As an appreciation of the time you have invested

The ups and downs of life you have told

And illustrated the rough and smooth of life’s long road

A whole experience your verse describe

Of love and life and daily strife

And of a world that changes day by day

Leaving us puzzled without a say.

Our memories though are evergreen

Of the places and wonders we have seen

As the years go by it is our fear

That the end of the highway draws ever near

But inside our selves we still have a thrill

As each new day greets us still

And it takes a scribe such as you

To record our varied points of view

Whilst many write but do not inspire

Your words recorded we do not tire

Because you have spent a lifetime of hours

May your path be strewn with flowers.
