Military Women WWII

Not many of us are around today

A time that has gone, where the war lay,

Frightening times a duty to do

From a protected life, to something new,

Discipline was the base, kept us in line

Gunfire and diving planes their shrieking whine,

No let up each day and night the same

The determination was strong still to remain,

Men and guns a battle never ending be

A mighty effort to keep this country free,

One found an unusual closeness, hard to define

Something to revere through passage of time,

A gunsite hardly the place but still remain

A time in my time, never to be the same.

Sharing information with others is rewarding in itself, the pieces from the jigsaw begin to fit together and a picture begins to appear. Improve your knowledge and help make the Fepow Story an everlasting memorial to their memory.
