Battle of the Roads

By

Win Rainer

When will the battle of the roads be won?

The educated road users must have their run

Speed is the ogre of them all

Obsessed by it, Devoured overall

Rushing by no views to see

The end of the journey may never be

No thought for others just one mad scrab

Which makes a pleasant passing of hours

Turn into something mad

Hooting frustrations by bad road users

Often turns out that they are the losers

Drinking and driving – we all know what that can do

The danger is there for me and you

But danger is laced into tiredness too

Days troubles, and nostalgia memories also do

So what can be the answer will one ever know

As down the road one must go.
