Autumn

By

Win Rainer

Carefree days of summer have disappeared

In its place a new kind of beauty has appeared

Trees in all their glory, of reds and gold

Tossing their leaves down, the ground to enfold.

The wind whipping them into whirlwind gay

Cascading them, as if in play.

Autumn in a happy mood

Between summer and winter

A perfect interlude.
