A Sailor

By

Win Rainer

Frail man of pensioned age, I hail

Alone at sea and under sail

A courages man, in line with Drake

As of old, did it for Englands sake.

An example was set, for the youth of today

The will to succeed in his own quiet way

He gave England hope in her hour of need

It’s men like these who are born to leed.

He inspired all, with no wish for fame

As round Cape on storm tossed seas he came

Master of his craft, and the cruel sea

This man is what he set out to be.
